TAGS is an All-Girls league for ages u8-u12
With an eye towards increasing the number of girls playing on all-girls recreation teams, in the fall of 2017 Rainbow Soccer joined forces with a number of local recreation soccer programs including Woodcroft, Holt and Hillandale, to provide an all-girls league across southern Orange, Durham and northern Chatham counties. This league will serve girls ages u8-u12. What does this new league mean for our all-girls teams that have been playing in the Rainbow league as Rainbow 1-practice or CH United 2-practice teams? Here are answers to some of the questions you might have:
Girls in the all-girls league who would have signed up for Rainbow this season will continue to have access to the same practice locations and days as their siblings playing on our Rainbow/CHU leagues coed teams. For the Spring 2018 season you will register your girls wanting all-girls teams on the Rainbow website along with your other children.
All teams will practice once a week with their volunteer coach and will have access to up to 5 additional optional practices in the form of technical training sessions coordinated by a licensed Triangle United soccer coach.
The All-Girls league players will have a mid-season Festival Day at the Soccer.com center in Efland included in their registration fees. This day will include 2 games per team with other league teams that they may not have played along with some other fun soccer-based activities.
The length of the season will be the same as for our Rainbow League coed teams.
With the creation of the All-Girls league Rainbow will no longer be offering Chapel Hill United all-girls teams at u10 & u12. Players wanting to stay in our CH United league will need to move to CH United co-ed teams.
We are looking forward to the increased opportunities for growth and improved competition for our girls only teams wanting to remain in a recreation soccer setting.
